Proceeding contribution from Baroness Murphy (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Monday, 22 May 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Health Bill.
Health Bill
I add my support to this amendment. We have explored in some detail what ““absence from the premises”” might mean. I want to be sure that the conditions to be specified in the regulations will go to the heart of what the Government want to achieve in improving pharmacists’ role in the community. We want to ensure that the regulations and guidance will support proper purposes. We hope that they would not allow for other purposes that might be personal, such as being on the golf course. It is important that these conditions really support the thrust of the Government’s widening of the role of the pharmacist and the good that needs to come out of that.
