Proceeding contribution from Justine Greening (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 25 May 2006. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Pensions Reform.

Pensions Reform

Given that one of the main drivers for reform is the decline in the dependency ratio over forthcoming decades, why did the Government opt for the tax-funded proposal outlined today, rather than an investment-funded one? Was such a proposal considered, and, if so, why was it thought less preferable than the one outlined today?
