Proceeding contribution from Lord Roberts of Conwy (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 6 June 2006. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Government of Wales Bill.

Government of Wales Bill

I am grateful to the Minister for his explanation and to the Government for their amendments to the clause. We shall study the next edition of the Bill when the Government’s amendments are in place to see whether the position is as satisfactory as we would hope. In thanking the Minister, perhaps I may also at the end of the Committee stage thank his colleague. I also thank my colleagues who have assisted me on our Front Bench—my noble friends Lord Hunt of Wirral, Lord Kingsland, Lord Henley and Lady Noakes. I also give special and personal thanks to my noble friend Lord Crickhowell for his powerful contribution from the Back Benches.
