Proceeding contribution from Baroness Wilcox (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Monday, 3 July 2006. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Legislative and Regulatory Reform Bill.

Legislative and Regulatory Reform Bill

The noble Lord, Lord Maclennan, spoke very well in response and I do not need to repeat what he said; I agree with him entirely. I am very sorry that Ministers in this House and another place only came so close to getting this right. I suspect that this could blow up horribly in their faces within a year or so. However, that clearly is the Government’s choice. I thank the Minister for his response but am sorry and regret it. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.
