Proceeding contribution from Lord Browne of Ladyton (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 6 July 2006. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Armed Forces Personnel.

Armed Forces Personnel

With respect, I think we have just launched an HMS Clyde. At the weekend, when I visited the Somme battlefield, I spent a good deal of time in the cemeteries. I was struck by the number of Army names on the gravestones of whose existence I had not known, and which had disappeared from the lexicon of the British Army decades ago.
