Education and Inspections Bill
I cannot give my hon. Friend the Member for Amber Valley a definition now; I do not want to prejudge the outcome of the discussions that she and others have been urging me to hold with the support staff unions about the implementation of the measure. I ask her to recall what I said previously about the need for a significant, genuine occupational requirement. The chances are that 10 per cent. will not meet it, but I do not want to prejudge the result of the discussions. We shall consult fully and I urge the House to support the motion.
