Proceeding contribution from Lord Hammond of Runnymede (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 27 November 2006. It occurred during Queen's speech debate on Treasury and Work and Pensions.
Treasury and Work and Pensions
I want to be clear that I understand what the hon. Lady is saying. The Chancellor said in 1994:"““I want the next Labour Government to achieve…an elimination of the massive means testing now imposed upon the elderly””." Is she trying to make a qualitative distinction between means-testing before the Chancellor and means-testing under him?
