Proceeding contribution from Lord Maclennan of Rogart (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 13 December 2006. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Bill [HL].

Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Bill [HL]

I hesitate to offer neologism to the Minister, but I am bound to say that ““member of the tribunal”” seems to me to be a very good description of them all. The mere attachment of ““legal”” to those who are is not a diminution of their status. Being a member of a tribunal of this kind is an important role in society and it should be recognised as such.
