Proceeding contribution from Greg Hands (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 31 January 2007. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Abu Hamza.
Abu Hamza
I am delighted that the Economic Secretary has finally given way. I should make one thing clear: at no point was there an allegation about buying and selling property. My comments about Hamza buying property and his son selling it were carefully phrased. Secondly, I did not say that the transaction was an illegal act. The Economic Secretary has missed the point. If it was not an illegal act at the time, why was it not, if the Government are clamping down on the transfer of terrorist assets? A valuable fixed asset was transferred between somebody who was accused of terrorist offences and a son who had been convicted of terrorist offences.
