Proceeding contribution from Baroness Anelay of St Johns (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 21 March 2007. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Serious Crime Bill [HL].
Serious Crime Bill [HL]
I am still not convinced that the Minister has explained why the Government’s position is preferable to that of the draft Clause 15. I appreciate that the way in which I tabled the amendment may mean that those advising him were not psychic so did not realise what kind of answer I was seeking. At this stage I will withdraw the amendment, but I will try to persuade the Minister to write to me between now and Report. The noble Baroness indicates that she would be prepared to do so. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendment No. 97 not moved.]
