Proceeding contribution from Roberta Blackman-Woods (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 27 March 2007. It occurred during Budget debate on Budget Resolutions and Economic Situation.

Budget Resolutions and Economic Situation

Absolutely—I agree totally and would very much like to see that on the agenda. I understand from the report that a review is taking place of regional development agencies. I would like to hear from the Minister what role Members of Parliament will play in that review. As I have said, in the report there is a lack of strong mechanisms to reduce regional inequalities. The regional spatial strategy in the north-east is a case in point.
