Given the thrust of the hon. Gentleman's remarks, does he agree with the comments of his party leader in a speech to the conference of the Movement for European Reform on 6 March this year? He said:"““The prospect of eventual Turkish membership is hugely important—not just for Turkey itself, but to demonstrate to the Muslim world that the EU is not an exclusive Christian club.””"
