Proceeding contribution from Charles Walker (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 19 November 2007. It occurred during Debate on bill on European Communities (Finance) Bill.
European Communities (Finance) Bill
I take your guidance once again, Madam Deputy Speaker. We need a much wider debate. The debate that we are having today is among the political classes. Our constituents have a desire to take part in the debate, and we must provide them with the opportunity to do so. We can do that by having a referendum on the treaty.
