Proceeding contribution from Pat McFadden (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 27 November 2007. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Post Office Closures.
Post Office Closures
There is always turnover in the network. Some 10 per cent. of post offices change hands every year. The process is not something to which the Government can put a stop. However, I believe that the access criteria offer some certainty for the future, which will help to ensure reasonable access to the network in both urban and rural areas.
