National Insurance Contributions Bill
I thank the hon. Lady for giving way once more. She suggested that the Liberal Democrats were not saying the level at which their citizens pension should be set. However, Liberal Democrat Members nodded vigorously in agreement when I suggested that we ought to aim for the basic state pension to be at least 25 per cent. of average earnings, the level it was at when the Conservative party broke the link with earnings. Would 25 per cent. be a good figure?
