Proceeding contribution from Lord Judd (Labour) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 17 January 2008. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Children and Young Persons Bill [HL].

Children and Young Persons Bill [HL]

For that reason I very much support it. I am tempted to make one observation that I hope Members of the Committee will take seriously. I sometimes worry about those in the private sector who are dumped in residential boarding schools and whose parents totally fail to support the children in any full sense while they are there, beyond feeling that they are in the school. Perhaps we should look at that area at some time.
