Proceeding contribution from Lord Strathclyde (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 17 January 2008. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on House of Lords Bill [HL].

House of Lords Bill [HL]

It is an eminently good idea to use the Committee of Selection, which already exists in this House. We should not go around reinventing the wheel when the machinery is already here.
