Proceeding contribution from Baroness Hamwee (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Monday, 28 January 2008. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee proceeding on Regulatory Enforcement and Sanctions Bill [HL].
Regulatory Enforcement and Sanctions Bill [HL]
I am grateful for the explanation. I apologise for my suggestion that the provision was not in the draft Bill; I have not lived with this Bill in the way that other noble Lords and organisations have. I should not call them outside organisations, because they are at the centre of this matter. I feel just as defensive of lawyers as both Ministers on the Government Front Bench do. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendments Nos. 83 and 84 not moved.]
