Proceeding contribution from David Gauke (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 31 January 2008. It occurred during Debate on bill on National Insurance Contributions Bill.

National Insurance Contributions Bill

Does my hon. Friend share my curiosity about a question that we pursued in Committee? We asked how many of the 5 million households that will lose out as a consequence of the Budget would be in that £39,000 to £40,000 range, and how many would be in lower range, involving people earning under £18,000 a year. I do not think that we have yet had an answer to that question.
