Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill

I rise in—despair is not exactly the word I am looking for, but it is not a million miles away from it. An enormous chunk of this Bill has now been taken out, which had it been properly thought through in the beginning would not have to be taken out. Those of us on the Joint Committee on Human Rights see an enormous chunk of this Bill as being in urgent need for amendment, parts of which were not discussed in the House of Commons. Is this really how legislation should be presented to Parliament? It seems to fit exactly into the words of the general confession: "““We have left undone those things which we ought to have done””—" I note that the Bishops are listening— "““And we have done those things that we ought not to have done; And there is no health in us””."
