Proceeding contribution from Tony Baldry (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 17 March 2008. It occurred during Ministerial statement on European Council.
European Council
The promise of a discussion of the millennium development goals at the June Council sounds somewhat weak. Will the Prime Minister undertake that between now and June, UKREP—the United Kingdom Representative Office—and No. 10 will work with colleagues elsewhere in the EU to try to ensure that at the June Council meeting a process is put in place to implement the MDGs by 2015—that there is not just further discussion, but that some decisions are made about a process to implement them by then?
