Proceeding contribution from Mike Gapes (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 25 March 2008. It occurred during Opposition day on Iraq Inquiry.
Iraq Inquiry
Can we get back to the terms of the right hon. Gentleman's motion? It refers to"ββthe period leading up to military action in that country in March 2003ββ," but when, in his opinion, did that period begin? Does it include what happened when the Thatcher Government were arming Saddam and implicitly supporting the repression of the Kurds, or does it simply start when the Labour Government were elected?
