Proceeding contribution from Lord Darling of Roulanish (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 13 May 2008. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Income Tax.

Income Tax

On the point made by my right hon. Friend the Member for Leeds, West (John Battle), I agree that we need to do more to encourage the take-up of the working tax credit. The take-up of the child tax credit is quite substantial. I am grateful to my right hon. Friend overall for the welcome that he has given. Mr. Speaker, if my statement is not now in the Vote Office, it ought to be, and I will take steps to make sure that it is.
