Criminal Evidence (Witness Anonymity) Bill
had given notice of his intention to move Amendment No. 4C: 4C: Clause 3, page 2, line 32, at end insert— ““( ) For the purposes of considering an application for a witness anonymity order the court may appoint special counsel from the Attorney General’s Panel of Special Counsel to represent the interests of the defendant and separate special counsel to represent the interests of the witness who is the subject of the application.”” The noble Lord said: I shall not move the amendment. I say that on behalf of my committee and I shall act in accordance with what I think is its view. [Amendment No. 4C not moved.] Clause 3, as amended, agreed to.
