Proceeding contribution from Gerald Kaufman (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 8 December 2008. It occurred during Debate on Speaker's Committee on the Search of Offices on the Parliamentary Estate.

Speaker's Committee on the Search of Offices on the Parliamentary Estate

The sentence continues:"““that there is on the premises evidence, other than items subject to legal privilege,””" relating to their offence or"““some other arrestable offence which is connected with…that offence””" or some other offence. That is a Tory law saying that once somebody has been arrested their premises can be searched without a warrant.
