Cohabitation Bill [HL]
My Lords, I shall deal with that point now. Clause 2(1) makes clear that cohabitation is defined only: ""For the purposes of this Act"." Therefore, the noble and right reverend Lord, Lord Harries, is perfectly right: this is not creating a new recognised relationship, but is laying down criteria for the courts to be able to apply, especially as regards financial provision.
