Proceeding contribution from Gordon Brown (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 23 March 2009. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Spring European Council.

Spring European Council

I have with me a copy of the letter that the Chancellor sent to the Czech Republic, which has the presidency of the EU at present. It says that, under our proposals,""it would not have powers over national supervisors, for example to change supervisory decisions, and it would not prescribe detailed supervisory practices."" That is our position.
