Proceeding contribution from Lord Jones (Labour) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 12 May 2009. It occurred during Debates on delegated legislation on Transfer of Tribunal Functions (Lands Tribunal and Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2009.
Transfer of Tribunal Functions (Lands Tribunal and Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2009
I thank my noble friend; I shall be brief. This is a weighty, impersonal, complicated and rather lengthy order and I wonder whether at this point he can tell the Committee what sort of people will be on the tribunal. I heard him mention judges. Are they always going to be legal professionals or will there be ordinary people? What sort of person is on the tribunal?
