Proceeding contribution from Eric Martlew (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 15 June 2009. It occurred during Opposition day on Rural Communities (Recession).

Rural Communities (Recession)

Sometime, when the hon. Gentleman has time, I will tell him the history of Kendal general hospital. The reality is that we cannot get consultants with the necessary skills to come to many of our small hospitals. My hon. Friend the Member for Copeland (Mr. Reed) knows that to some extent. Without the size, we will not get the skilled consultants. We can build a hospital, but we will not get people to work there.
