Proceeding contribution from Graham Stuart (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 15 July 2009. It occurred during Opposition day on Caring for the Elderly.
Caring for the Elderly
I will try to be brief. The truth is that under this Labour Government, the local authority bar for access to care has risen repeatedly because of the funding position. Care has been removed from those with moderate or even quite serious needs. It is necessary for people to be at the top end of the care need scale before they have access to local authority care, thanks to the actions of this Government.
