National Assembly for Wales (Legislative Competence) (Welsh Language)

The right hon. Gentleman will recall being a member, as I was, of the Standing Committee that considered the Welsh Language Act. That worked well and, as far as I know, did not create any havoc. We have experience in this field and surely, as he rightly says, we can leave the issue to our colleagues in the Assembly who have been democratically elected to do their job. There is a line between scrutiny and interference, but I am afraid that it is blurred.
