Proceeding contribution from Lembit Opik (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 14 October 2009. It occurred during Debates on delegated legislation on National Assembly for Wales (Legislative Competence) (Welsh Language).

National Assembly for Wales (Legislative Competence) (Welsh Language)

The right hon. non-lawyer asked a very important question. Why does the hon. Lady say that we should inspect or have sight of a Measure? The Secretary of State implied that there is an anti-devolutionary element to what she is saying. Unless she can explain why she thinks we should see the Measure, even though it is logically impossible for us to do so, the suspicion that a Conservative Government would roll back some of the fundamental tenets of the 2006 legislation will be left hanging in the air.
