Proceeding contribution from Denis MacShane (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 11 January 2010. It occurred during Debate on bill on Children, Schools and Families Bill.
Children, Schools and Families Bill
In 1997, no school in Rotherham had been rebuilt for about 20 years, and there was rotting infrastructure. Almost all of them have now been rebuilt. I am proud that the head teacher of Thornhill primary school is in the Gallery tonight. She will listen to the scorn and contempt of the Conservative party for what this Government have done. It should be ashamed of itself, because we have served the children of our nation, and it will not do so.
