This may be helpful to the Minister. New clause 73(2) and (3) deal with MPs' salaries. It is probably better if I do not read out both, but proposed new subsection (2) states:""The first determination under section 4(4) of the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009 does not have to come into effect before 1 April 2012."" Presumably, proposed new subsection (3) states how matters will be determined until then, but I am not sure that the meaning is obvious to everyone listening to our debates or, even, to everybody in the Chamber.
