Proceeding contribution from Philip Davies (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 10 March 2010. It occurred during Estimates day on Alcohol.
Alcohol
The people who have studied the proposal, which the right hon. Gentleman's Select Committee seemingly has not done, came to the conclusion that there is no evidence that it would have any effect at all on alcohol use, yet his Committee is prepared, without any evidence, to siphon off—[Interruption.] That is what the Health Committee proposes—""No event should be sponsored if more than 10 per cent. of those attending are under 18 years of age."" That is virtually every sport one can think of.
