Proceeding contribution from Baroness Merron (Labour) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 10 March 2010. It occurred during Estimates day on Alcohol.

Hospital admissions caused by drink are rising and the latest estimates suggest that alcohol costs the NHS some £2.7 billion and causes at least 9,000 deaths every year.
