Proceeding contribution from Lord Cameron of Chipping Norton (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 21 June 2010. It occurred during Ministerial statement on European Council.

European Council

My hon. Friend is right. If we look at what has happened over the past 13 years, we have had a succession of treaty changes, whether Nice, Amsterdam or Lisbon, but we have not had the action that we needed to complete the single market to make the differences that would help our economy. We should aim for fewer institutional changes—not more treaties—and getting things done in Europe that will benefit the British economy.
