Proceeding contribution from Andy Slaughter (Labour) in the House of Commons on Monday, 28 June 2010. It occurred during Budget debate on Budget Debate.
Capital Gains Tax (Rates)
When will the right hon. Gentleman publish more details of the proposals for the cuts in housing benefit? The local authorities affected, such as mine in Hammersmith, which is a Conservative authority, really do not know what is happening; other than that we know that 750 families, at least, will have to move out of the borough because even the substandard accommodation that he clearly wants them to move into is not available in central London. How does he expect those families who move to areas where less work is available than in central London to find jobs, as he says that he wishes they would?
