The House has rightly expressed its admiration for my hon. Friend the Member for Warwick and Leamington (Chris White). I have a great deal of empathy with him, as I remember my shock at seeing my name at the top of the private Members' ballot a few months after my arrival in this place. I have been on his journey, and I wish him every success on it. Once the right hon. Member for Salford and Eccles (Hazel Blears) had recovered from the shock of being described as dreary—
