Proceeding contribution from Mike Gapes (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 23 November 2010. It occurred during Debate on bill on National Insurance Contributions Bill.
National Insurance Contributions Bill
Is the Minister aware that the proposals in the Bill discriminate against many areas—of London, in particular—with above-average unemployment? Will he explain to people in my constituency, where according to the Library there is already 6.6% unemployment, why on earth the national insurance contribution holiday does not apply to them?
