Proceeding contribution from Lord Redesdale (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Friday, 4 March 2011. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Dog Control Bill [HL].

Dog Control Bill [HL]

My Lords, Amendment 17 repeals the Dangerous Dogs Act 1989. The Act amends the Dogs Act 1871, which is already repealed under my Bill. This is an important measure because it tidies up pieces of legislation. From the Government’s point of view, we are not introducing an additional piece of legislation; we are introducing one but repealing three. That is totally in line with the purpose of the ““one in, one out”” rule. I beg to move. Amendment 17 agreed. Clause 12, as amended, agreed. Clause 13 : Short title, interpretation, commencement and extent Amendment 18 Clause 13 : Short title, interpretation, commencement and extent Amendment 18 Moved by
