Proceeding contribution from Lord Hague of Richmond (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 7 March 2011. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Libya and the Middle East.
Libya and the Middle East
It is true, as far as we know, that Libya continues to have stocks of mustard gas. We continue to call on the Libyan regime to ensure that any stocks it has are absolutely secured, because the level of violence in Libya gives rise to concern about what might happen to them. I am not sure whether previous Government had knowledge of the stocks or why they did not comment on them, but this Government have been very open about our knowledge that those stocks exist, and they must be secured.
