Proceeding contribution from Andrew Murrison (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 10 March 2011. It occurred during Backbench debate on Inter-Parliamentary Scrutiny (EU Foreign, Defence and Security Policy).
Inter-Parliamentary Scrutiny (EU Foreign, Defence and Security Policy)
In support of the point made by the hon. Member for Ilford South (Mike Gapes), I note that Guido Westerwelle said at the Munich security conference in February last year:"ββThe long-term goal is the establishment of a European army under full parliamentary control.ββ" I share the dismay that today's Chamber is not full with Members concerned about such remarks being made by very senior politicians in Europe, and particularly in Germany.
