Proceeding contribution from Alan Reid (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 15 March 2011. It occurred during Debate on bill and Committee of the Whole House (HC) on Scotland Bill.
Scotland Bill
I think that the hon. Gentleman has miscalculated. The hon. Member for Na h-Eileanan an Iar is being principled. He believes in Scottish independence. Transferring the Crown Estate in its entirety would be disadvantageous to Scotland, because only 6% of the profits are generated there. That is less than Scotland's current share of public expenditure. The new clause ought to appeal to the hon. Gentleman in financial terms.
