Proceeding contribution from Lord Falconer of Thoroton (Labour) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 29 March 2011. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Fixed-term Parliaments Bill.
Fixed-term Parliaments Bill
I could leave out entirely the legitimate drafting point that the noble and learned Lord makes. If the amendment said, "““if no Government had obtained a vote of confidence since the last general election””," would that help the noble and learned Lord to determine what I am trying to say? It is my fault for not putting it well.
