Proceeding contribution from Lord Wallace of Tankerness (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Monday, 16 May 2011. It occurred during Debate on bill on Fixed-term Parliaments Bill.
Fixed-term Parliaments Bill
Amendment 25 is clearly linked as a package to the suite of amendments that the noble Lord, Lord Pannick, spoke to on Report on the first day. While it is not strictly consequential, the Government nevertheless believe that it would be unnecessary to divide the House on this, triggering a Division. However, we have made our position clear that we did not support the amendment, and we reserve our right to return to the issue at a later stage. Amendment 25 agreed.
