Proceeding contribution from Lord Marland (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 17 May 2011. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Energy: Fourth Carbon Report.

Energy: Fourth Carbon Report

I am not sure whether the answers are yes, no, no, yes. Broadly speaking, I do not stand here trotting out cant or zeal that has been put to me by my colleagues. We work very closely as a team in coming up with what we think are the right policies. There is no difference between us in that. The Committee on Climate Change does an excellent job. It gives us a guiding principle on where we need to go as a responsible society. We must remember that we have a responsibility not just for out lifetime, but our children’s lifetime, and—the noble Lord is too young to have grandchildren —out grandchildren’s lifetime.
