Proceeding contribution from Lord Phillips of Sudbury (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 16 June 2011. It occurred during Committee of the Whole House (HL) and Debate on bill on Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill.

Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill

My Lords, to pursue the point, there is a vast difference, with respect, between getting the consent of the Attorney-General as a prerequisite and the right of the Attorney-General to intervene by way of nolle prosequi. The noble Lord is mistaken in what he draws from that.
