Proceeding contribution from Lord Hammond of Runnymede (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 14 July 2011. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Coastguard Modernisation.
Coastguard Modernisation
As my right hon. and learned Friend will appreciate, given that we have decided to retain one station from each pairing in order to respond to the concerns about local knowledge, there will inevitably be a series of questions such as his from Members representing the station in each pair that has not been selected for retention. A multi-criterion approach was adopted to the decisions about which station in each pair should be retained. I should be happy to explain to my right hon. and learned Friend the detailed logic behind the decision in this case.
