Proceeding contribution from Penny Mordaunt (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 20 July 2011. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Public Confidence in the Media and Police.
Public Confidence in the Media and Police
This House, the media and the whole country have been rightly focused on this issue, but is the Prime Minister aware that aid agencies are reporting that as a result of that focus there has been a lack of public awareness of the humanitarian crisis in Somalia, and as a consequence lower donations to relief funds? Can the Prime Minister assure me and the House that he will spend his time looking at those issues as well as this one?
